The Philippines Underwater Hockey Confederation (PUHC) is the first club in Asia dedicated to underwater hockey. PUHC is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and was established in 1991.
The origin of PUHC
In 1979, the president of a dive shop in Manila called Dive Asia, read an article about underwater hockey in the World Underwater Federation (CMAS) magazine. After asking and receiving information about the rules and equipment of the game, their first underwater game was held in a store pool in 1980. The game reached a diving club at the University of the Philippines, known as U.P. Divers are the first people to find a public place for scrimmage games. They first played in the Quezon City Sports Club pool every Tuesday night from 1984 to 1997.
In 1990, these players finally entered the Philippine Underwater Hockey Club. Since then, it has developed into the Philippines Underwater Underwater Hockey Association (PUHC) and is recognized by the Philippine Olympic Committee and the Confederation of Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (Federation of the Underwater World).
Over the years, addiction was passed from one recruitment to the next, gradually increasing PUHC's expertise.
Today, this is an umbrella organization that manages underwater hockey clubs throughout the archipelago.
