CLARK, Philippines: Moments after emerging from the waters after a historic victory at the SEA Sports underwater hockey tournament, team captain Jonathan Chan has considered the team's next goal: Another gold.

Singapore's men's and women's underwater hockey team won gold at the 30th SEA Games in the Philippines on Wednesday (December 4) at the Vermoza Sports Center in Imus, Cavite.
In the 4x4 event, the men's team defeated the Philippines 5-0 while the women's match ended 4-2.
A 3-0 defeat in the first half of the men's final was enough to give Singapore the lead to win and they sealed the win with two goals after the break.
"I think we came out at the right time - in the gold medal match. That's when we really came together," Chan explained.
"Over the past few days, we have been trying to reach this point ... This is what it should be and I am very happy with it (apparently)."
The women's 4X4 final closer to the Philippines threatened to return with two late goals. But Singapore survived.
Coach Lena Plambeck acknowledged his accusations of performing well and described him as a "great team" to work with.
"Even though this is an amateur sport, they are very professional about their training, their preparation for the competition," said Plambeck.
"They have to do everything themselves and they are very focused and it's easy to train, listen, use, try something. This is a great team to work with."
Singapore Gold is the first SEA Games medal for this sport, debuting at the 2019 SEA Games.
Singapore has now won three gold medals on Wednesday, following a victory in the women's three-way final.
"Underwater hockey is not a mainstream sport and in terms of marine sports, it is very exciting," said Chan, a former water polo player.
The men's and women's teams will compete in the 6x6 event, with round-robin matches starting today.
